Business Development Rep - Sustainability - SSC

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Sustainable Solutions Corporation (SSC), you will play a key role in driving SSC’s growth by generating qualified leads and building a strong sales pipeline for our sustainability services. Your main focus will be identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospects to support the sales team in closing new business.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to develop a solid understanding of SSC’s offerings—such as life cycle assessment, LEED certification, waste diversion, energy audits, and sustainable operations—and effectively communicate their value to prospective clients. You’ll collaborate with marketing and operations to refine outreach strategies and ensure smooth handoffs to the sales team.
What you are accountable for:
- Identify and engage prospective clients through outbound research, email campaigns, social outreach, and phone calls.
- Qualify leads and schedule discovery meetings for Sales Account Executives
- Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline in CRM systems
- Collaborate with marketing on campaign targeting and messaging optimization
- Stay informed about industry trends and SSC’s sustainability services to effectively communicate value propositions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and operations to improve handoff, messaging, and sales efficiency. Maintain accurate records and notes in the CRM system to ensure visibility and data integrity
What we are looking for:
- 1–3 years of experience in a lead generation, sales development, or inside sales role, preferably in sustainability, environmental, or B2B services
- Passion for sustainability and an eagerness to learn about SSC’s consulting services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Self-starter mindset with strong time management and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g.,Zoho) and sales enablement platforms
- Previous experience working with a technical or consulting services team is a plus
- Knowledge or interest in sustainability concepts like LEED, life cycle assessments, and waste diversion is a bonus
Where you will be located:
This is a remote position with occasional travel for team collaboration, events, or client meetings as needed. Our team works on Eastern Standard Time (EST).
What you will be paid:
The role offers a base salary range of $50–65k/year, with a commission structure based on qualified lead conversions and sales contributions.
